65km for Cystic Fibrosis

In last month’s newsletter we shared the news that our very own Ben Colquhoun would be walking
with Team Jacob in the 65km walk for Cystic Fibrosis this month. Well it happened last weekend and
it was a raving success. What a day!

Filled with people showing courage, encouragement and love ❤️ over $100K raised with #teamjacob
contributing over $15K of that total.

Huge love to all the beautiful volunteers & supporters who
supported and cheered Team Jacob to the finish line. A special congratulations to Ben for inspiring so
many and achieving so much.

Sharpies Beer Run

On the weekend just gone, Sean Redmond ran half marathon in the Sharpies beer run at the Pig and
Whistle Main Ridge.

A 21km off road trail run attended by over 600 runners.

Sean finished in the top 40 for his event and to say the least, thoroughly enjoyed a cool cleansing ale
at the finish line.

Sean has inspired a number of FLM team members to start running over the past 12 months and sets
an awesome example of great health and getting moving. Sean will be running in the 100km
Surf Coast Rapid ascent Ultra Marathon in September this year. We’ll keep you posted on his progress.

Great Work Sean!

A big farewell to Nick Mavroudis

It is with mixed feelings that we announce Nick Mavroudis is leaving Fisher Lane Mobility
after 13 years of incredible service. It will be with a sense of sadness we see him go,
yet we could not be happier for Nick and his family as they pursue their dream of a
sea change to set up home in sunny Queensland.

Nick first joined our team in 2003 as our warehouse manager at Brunswick St Fitzroy.
Nick then joined the sales team and went onto become a most highly capable, knowledgeable and
admired team member. Nick has fitted thousands of clients with assistive equipment over his years and
we are so grateful to him for the highest possible standard of work that he set
for himself.

One of Nick’s greatest legacies to impart on our team is his generosity in spirit when it comes
to sharing knowledge. Nick has shared all he has learnt with our sales team over his years
which now leaves us with one of the most knowledge rich teams of sales professionals in the industry.

We are happy to announce that Cal Bruce will be taking on Nick’s high end power scripting work.
Cal has been working closely with Nick for the past weeks and we are confident of a smooth and
professional handover. Cal’s bio is included for your reference below.Sean Redmond
will be looking after Nick’s therapists for basic scripting of manual chairs as well as Cal Bruce.
Sean’s Bio is also included below.

Nick last day at FLM will be Friday 31st March. We will have Nick’s email address linked to our
sales team here at FLM for the foreseeable future to ensure all of Nicks clients and therapists
continue to receive the high level of service Nick has always provided.

If you have any questions or comments about the announcement of Nick moving on,
please don’t hesitate to contact me at Anthony.h@fisherlane.com.au.

We wish Nick the greatest happiness and success in all future personal and professional endeavors

The Disability Awards

The nominations for the Victorian Disability Awards are now open.

Each year the Victorian Disability Awards recognise people who make an outstanding contribution to empower and
 include people with a disability.

There are many people in our community who dedicate themselves to making a real difference in the lives of people
with a disability. There’s never been a more important time to recognise people like this.

There are new categories and judging criteria this year. We invite you to take the time to nominate a person, team or organisation, and to help raise awareness of the awards by sharing the resources and information that is available online.

You can visit www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/disabilityawards to find out more or to nominate someone.

Nominations close on Thursday, 27 April 2017.

Fisher Lane's Wall of Fame

~Our Everyday Heroes~

“To be inspired you must surround yourself with inspiring things”

With this quote in mind, we’ve decided to create our very own Wall of Fame to celebrate inspirational people
who often go without the praise or recognition that they truly deserve.

Each month we’ll add a picture to “the wall” of somebody who has been nominated by our team due to being
an example of awesomeness. And then we’ll share it with you so that you can also be inspired!
This could be anyone from an athlete, someone’s mum, a client or anyone who has done something
courageous or inspirational. Who knows, maybe you’ll receive a message from us asking for a picture to go up there!
And so without further ado, we are so proud to announce our very first wall of fame and everyday hero,
Monique Murphy – chosen by Ben.
Mon is an amazing athlete in the Australian Paralympic swimming team. Not only has Mon shown extreme
courage over the last few years to overcome losing a lower limb to then achieving such success in elite sports,
she also displays a huge love for life and a joyfulness that celebrates all of the little things. A picture of
positivity and extreme work ethic!

Thanks for starting us off strong Monique. YOU INSPIRE US!
