Letter from the General Manager

Yes, it’s that time of the year!

2016 has flown by and there have been many changes in the Assistive Technology
industry (mostly good). FLM has had a positive 12 months welcoming new Therapists,
Customers and FLM team members (& a couple of new baby Fisher Laner's), the request for
our services was very strong throughout the year 2016 and we look to start the New Year
even stronger.

This year FLM’s focus was set on improving our customer’s service by targeting area’s such as
showroom experience, professional training sessions, reducing delivery time frames, technology,
social media and increasing our own product knowledge in which I hope you have all seen the positive results.

It is a privilege to lead such a group of professional and dedicated staff who continue to strive for
excellence delivering mobility and assistive technology products to the market, with their support
and commitment we were able to service the needs of over 10,000 customers throughout 2016.

So in the run up to Christmas I again would like to thank you personally for your support and from
the team at FLM, we wish you a very safe and Merry Christmas.

All the best for 2017!

- Anthony Howard

Country Care DVA & Thankyou.

On Thursday 1st December the team at FLM hosted the annual OT Christmas
lunch. We finish the year celebrating with our Occupational Therapists all the
incredible work we've achieved and share stories of all the wins and sometimes
loss's of the year just ventured.
This year we welcomed Natanya and Pete from Thankyou. who gave a sensational
presentation on the work they
do in the community both near and abroad to inch closer to ending global poverty.

There were some moving moments shared and we all finished the year on a grateful and enjoyable note.
Visit  to learn more about the work they do and how you can
contribute to their cause. FLM are super proud to support them!

One of our own took it upon himself to help create a Christmas Miracle by raising
money to feed the hungry over the Christmas period

Read his story below:

"I’m not sure exactly why, but around late November I kind of had the idea that I
wanted to raise some money for a charity. I think this time of year really makes you
think about those who are going without and I’ve been so lucky and had such an
incredible year that I wanted to do something for those in need. I started looking around
for a charity that I could get behind, and I found FareShare; I love their mission, what
they do has such an immediate impact and is such an elegant solution to food wastage
while feeding those who would have gone hungry. I had the privilege of meeting some of
the team from FareShare and they gave me such great support from the start.

With a charity picked I decided to set the goal of $5000. I told the Ben, Kate and Anthony
(the owners of Fisher Lane) what I was planning on doing and in true Fisher Lane form they
got right behind me; they pledged to matched the donations I received dollar for dollar once I
hit the $5000 mark.
When I decided to raise money for FareShare I thought I should do something a bit out there
to get people on board and since the furthest I have ever run is 44km, I thought 50km should
do the trick.
I decided I wanted to do the run around Princes Park on Saturday the 10th of December, which
has a 3.2km running track around the outside. I did some quick math and it would mean I
would be doing 16 laps of the park.
I picked Princes Park for the run for a couple of reason, the main one being that my wife, Kim
and I got married there in October.

The run started at 3:30pm on Saturday and by that stage Melbourne had really turned
the weather on for us. Kim organised a bunch of our friends to come down and support from
a sunny vantage point; handing me drinks, gels and cheering me on each lap. A group of
my friends who run also came down and did some laps with me. I really couldn’t have completed
the run without the support of my friends and family.

The run took me just over 5 hours in total, so I ended up finishing at about 8:30pm. I celebrated
with an ice cold beer and a hot shower. The very next day we hit our fundraising goal of $5000.

It was such an incredible experience, very tough but very rewarding.

I really cannot thank everyone that donated and spread the word for this fundraiser enough.
It has been incredibly humbling to witness the generosity of those around me".

Merry Christmas from the team at Fisher Lane Mobility!
